June 19   Scholarship and Student Recognition Night

The Windsor Kiwanis Club held it's annual scholarship night at the Skyline Restaurant.

We were proud to present college scholarships to the following students:

May 17   Windsor Shad Derby Day

A great day of entertainment at the 2008 Windsor Shad Derby.

The Windsor Kiwanis Club organized its 38th annual 5K Run and 2.5K Walk.  The race began and ended at the Elm and Broad Street (Route 159) intersection in Windsor Center, Windsor, Connecticut.

May 7   K-Club Banner Presentation

John Gamache and John D'Agata presented a banner to the Clover Street K-Kids President.


May 3   3rd Annual Kiwanis Club Open Golf Tournament

The Windsor Kiwanis Club held the 3rd annual KCO at the Keney Park Golf Course.  Approximately 100 golfers participated in this major fundraising event.

April 12   Canstruction® Connecticut 2008

The Windsor Kiwanis Club was proud to support Poquonock Elementary School students in their participation in a unique food charity benefiting the Food Bank.

A foundation of the Society for Design Administration (SDA), Canstruction® is a design/build competition. Teams of architects, engineers, and students mentored by these professionals, compete to design and build giant structures made entirely from full cans of food.

Congratulations to the Poquonock Elementary School students and mentors from AIA Connecticut  in winning the Juror's Favorite award.


March 13   The Second Annual Windsor Kiwanis Raffle

The Windsor Kiwanis Club held the annual raffle at Skyline Restaurant.  The lucky winners are:

  1st Prize - 55" Hitachi Plasma TV (55HDT79): Jeanette Clark

  2nd Prize - $1000 Sunoco Gift Card: Ron J. Collins

  3rd Prize - $500 Geissler's Gift Card: Jan Sousa

Our guest speaker was Susan Miller, founder of Family Partnerships of Connecticut.  Family Partnerships of Connecticut assists families and individuals with disabilities.  They will help to determine the needs of the individual with special needs and assist with developing goals and a comprehensive plan that will help their current needs.

March 1   The Windsor Feud

Fundraising event for the Chamber of Commerce.  Played like the "Family Feud", this live game show raises money to benefit the Chamber's community programs.
